- Cost of equipment will be at Streamline Payment's cost plus shipping and appropriate state and local taxes. Streamline does not mark-up equipment. Equipment pricing is subject to change but will always be quoted at current cost.
Why is it better to purchase vs lease equipment?
- When considering Credit Card equipment costs, it is important to investigate the retail purchase price of the equipment and compare that to the total cost of the lease. A typical Credit Card equipment lease is 36 to 48 months. In almost all cases leasing equipment will cost significantly more than the outright purchase of the equipment. There may be business/tax reasons that a fixed monthly payment may be better for a business, but generally for most small to mid-size businesses, purchasing equipment is less costly. No matter what type of credit card equipment is needed or how much it costs, there are almost certainly better options than leasing.
What are the contract terms?
- Standard term is 36 months. This term assures the Insured merchant’s pricing and terms, and conditions will not change within the 36-month period. Streamline Payments owns the agreements and therefore Streamline Payments, and the Merchant can agree to cancel/terminate the agreement at any time.
What are the termination penalties?
- If the agreement is terminated prior to the 36 months, a $295.00 fee can be charged to the Insured merchant. However, Streamline Payments determines if the termination fee is charged based on cause of termination.
What does EMV mean? (Europay, Mastercard and Visa) (i.e. EMV card processing leverages fraud-reducing technology that helps protect issuers, merchants. and consumers through embedded computer chip and associated technology which enables safe payment.).
- EMV refers to the chip embedded on a credit card. This chip, also known as “dipping,” enables a higher level of security as opposed to a magnetic strip, or “swiping.” Chip cards are harder for fraudsters to steal data from to create counterfeit cards. EMV also refers to contactless payments, or “tapping.”
